Legal Question in Workers Comp in New Jersey

using paid days

if i have paid sick days at work can i take them as the initial days 8 days it takes for workers comp to kick in ..and if so will i still be paid for those days by the state afterward if i am out of work for the required amount of time

You can, but you shouldn't. You do get paid for those first eight days, after the eight days have passed. This is the same way that a regular paycheck works, so it shouldn't be any problem. If you still decide to use vacation days, whether or not you can get those days back is something that would have to be negotiated later.
