Legal Question in Workers Comp in New Jersey
Required Company Doctor's Visits
What is the required amount of company insurance doctor's visits before I am allowed to see my own doctor? Is it true that after ninety days that I would be able to see my own doctor? I would appreciate a response as soon as possible. This is for my family member who was injured on his job. Thank you very much. [email protected]

Thanks for the inquiry. However, there is not enough information to answer the question fully. Please call me at 1-800-34 NJ lAW for more information.
Generally speaking, in Worker's Comp, you have to treat with the doctor's of their choice. If you want to treat with someone else, that is another can of worms. I would be happy to discuss this with you.
Re: Required Company Doctor's Visits
Under New Jersey Workers Compensation law, if you want your medical care paid for by the workers compensation insurance carrier, you have to use the doctors that they authorize only. If you use your own doctor, and he is not the workers compensation authorized doctor, then his services won't be paid for by the workers compensation carrier. There is no time period requirement at all. You are free to use your own doctor, but I would strongly recommend that you let him know that the injuries are related to a work injury and that the workers compensation carrier won't pay for his services. I am an attorney who has handled hundreds of workers compensation claims in New Jersey in the past. I would like very much to speak with your injured relative or you to see what I can do to assist him or her in the injury claim. Please call me at 1-908-272-0111 to discuss this. There is never any charge for simply discussing a case with me. Thank you. Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.
