In New Mexico, "Receiving or Transferring a Stolen Vehicle or Motor Vehicle" is a violation of NMSA 1978, Section 30-16D-4. It is a:
Fourth Degree Felony if a First Offense - Basic Sentence of 18 months (1 1/2 years)
Third Degree Felony if a Second Offense - Basic Sentence of 36 months (3 years)
Second Degree Felony if a Third or Subsequent Offense - Basic Sentence of 108 months (9 years)
Sentencing for the various levels of offenses is set forth at NMSA 1978, Section 31-18-15
