Legal Question in Banking Law in New Mexico
bank account violated by bank employee
My partner's and my bank account was violated by my ex husband's fiancee who was a Wells Fargo Bank employee with access to our accounts. We went to the bank with suspicions and were told they would look into the matter. The next thing we were told was that she was let go from the bank for violating code of ethics, that she was unbondable, etc. She has had access to our account information as well as SS#'s for months now. The bank now refuses to communicate with us about this matter, saying they have taken all appropriate action. The fiancee denies any wrongdoing, accuses us of trying to get her fired, says she quit on her own accord, and says she has a letter exonerating her of all wrongdoing. The bank has assured us that none of this is the case. They will give us no more information or documentation about the violation. Do we need legal representation in this matter? Is there anything left for us to do to protect our identities? Is the bank liable in any way for her actions?
