non compete agreement
I signed a Non-Compete agreement in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I am a computer consultant. I have left that job and need to find out if the agreement is (1) legal (2) binding and (3) breakable.

Re: non compete agreement
Non-compete agreements may be strictly enforced in NM if they are reasonable in (1)geographic scope, and (2) time. Within the entire state of NM has been held to be reasonable in geographic scope, and 3 years has been held to be a reasonable time. The agreements are not legally breakable if they meet these requirements.
