Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New Mexico
My dad gave me $500 last april for a down payment for a vehicle and now he want to take me to court to get the money back. Would it stand in court and there was no written paper or receipt.

A gift, once given, cannot be taken back. The outcome of a court hearing depends upon the proof. If there is sufficient proof (testimony) that it was a gift, then he cannot get the money back.
