Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New Mexico
has there ever been a law stating that a couple must be married to live or reside with each other?? i was informed that it was infact illegal in 1971, i am wondering if this is true.

Yes, it is true. Technically, a couple was committing "illegal co-habitation" before the law was changed, although criminal prosecution of that particular crime was exceedingly rare.
