Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New Mexico

I was given a Public Defender in New Mexico, and I have seen him only once, has not called me all a I gave him a list of witnesses but own his own decided to interview the plaintiff. has he broken any laws? or have my civil rights been violated?

You will not often see or hear from your public defender, except for court proceedings. That is the way they work because of their exceptional case load. Interviewing the complaining witness is standard procedure in any criminal case, and it clearly to your benefit. He has not violated any laws nor your civil rights. He is doing his job. Many times dropping him a note will elicit a response; calling on the phone probably will not.
