Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New Mexico
Is there a statute of limitations on sexual harassment
I worked for Arthur Murray Dance Studios. My boss trapped me in a room. I quit the job because I felt it wasn't a suitable working environment. I filed false imprisonment charges against my employer. the police investigated and dropped the charges.they said since I quit the job that he posed no tnreat to me anymore. I wasn't concerned about what he might do. I was concerned about what he allready did. It has been two years since then. I never pursued it because I did not have the money for an attorney. I had a year contract to work for my employer and I feel that I should have been paid for the remainder of the contract atleast. I also believe I deserve compensation for defamation of character as well. I was denied employment in my industry because of what they said to other studios. I have the money for an attorney but is it too late to do anything?
