Legal Question in Technology Law in New Mexico
email forgery
Is there any way to determine
if an email has been altered ?
My ex-girlfriend has apparently
changed an email that I send
to say that I was planning a
crime (not what I said at all)
and is now causing me all kinds
of trouble. How can I prove
that what she has is not what I
sent ?

Re: email forgery
Your own computer's "Sent" registry should retain a copy of the email sent.
Also- if it is serious enough, you can SUBPOENA her computer's "INBOX" Registry which would contain the original email in its correct form.
Let me know if you wish more assistance.
I practice in the Business and Internet Law area.
