Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Mexico
Car Leasee Rights
My father passed away almost one year ago. I drive a car that is leased in his name. I have been paying on the car since is death. The car company was notified shortly after his death. The car company, this week, told us we have to turn the car in right now. We would like to either buyout the remaining balance of the lease, or, get the lease in our name and continue paying. The car company tells us that we have no options we have to turn the car in asap. What are my rights? What are my mothers rights?

Re: Car Leasee Rights
Need to see written lease. That is what defines rights and obligations. They will likely require a transfer and do credit check in advance.
