Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Mexico
Destroyed Property
I took a roll of film in for developing at a local discount store. The film was damaged during the developing process. The store manager and two employees stated they were having problems with the developer prior to this time. The store has offered free film and developing and a $20 gift card as compensation. Do you feel this is fair or do I have grounds for a small court claim since they did not tell me they were having problem with the developer? If I do have a small court claim what would be a fair settlement?

Re: Destroyed Property
I think that is a fair settlement. The only thing damaged was the film, and they are replacing it and giving you $20.00 in addition. It seems very fair.
