adding up charges
if i wasn't even working for a company when I supposedly embezzeled money and out of 18 instances on one charge can prove that I worked for someone else does the case hold water

The question isn't who you were working for when you were charged, but what evidence the prosecution has upon which to base charges against you. Criminal charges are about evidence, not where one works. If they have some evidence, you will have to deal with it no matter the time frame or the situation of your employment.
