Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Mexico

Disorderly Conduct and Littering Charges

I was recently charged with disorderly conduct and littering in Albuquerque New Mexico. Can I enter a plea of no contest? Or Should I enter a not guilty plea and get a public defender? I have never been arrested in New Mexico, although I have in Ohio and Indiana. I have no felony convictions. If I enter a No Contest or Gulity plea at the arraignment, what kind of sentencing am I facing? The incident involved loud music, allegadly throwing beer cans at a security guard, and flipping the arresting officer the bird.

Plead "not guilty," consult with the public defender, then make up your mind what to do. Depending upon which judge you draw, you could be looking at a slap on the wrist or a few days in jail. Since you don't know who they are, consult the PD and find out what to do.
