Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Mexico

Domestic Violence

I am the mother-in-law to the young man in guestion.He was a police officer at the time.they were arguing in the car , at this time a friend heard this and called 911,he was arrested.M y daughter did not file any charges.There have been a few officers arrested for this,they have been able to keep there jobs and have not had any crimanal charges brought against them.So why our son-in law?

Often there are more differences than similarities in cases. Hopefully, he has not provided any statements, and has hired a criminal defense attorney. It is impossible to predict when a case will be vigorously pursued, and when the prosecutor is disinclined to prosecute. Every fact situation is different. If the matter can be favorably resolved, it is not out of the question that he can get his job back.
