Without all the facts, a definitive answer is not possible. It could be, however, that if you were negligent in the storing of a firearm, or if you had reason to believe that your son was involved with a gang and might use it, or if you negligently permitted a minor to have unreasonable access to a dangerous instrumentality, you might have civil liability to the victim of the shooting. You are strongly advised to seek the opinion of an experienced personal injury attorney for a more complete and comprehensive answer, having disclosed all relevant facts of the situation to him/her.
