Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Mexico
I am going to have a federal supoena issued to me soon. I will be a character witness and do I pay out of pocket for travel and lodging expenses?

No. The government is responsible for your mileage, lodging, meals, and daily per diem. Contact the AUSA who is handling the case (name should be on your subpoena) and request those items be attended to prior to the date you must travel.
