Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Mexico
Felony charges
I am 27 yrs old and I have a felony charge that is about 5yrs old. Can I get my records sealed so employeers and or land lords can not get these records? I have turned my life around and this past seems to haunt me. What are my other options, can I vote? Where do I find this information that is current? Thank you for your time I understand this was more than 1 question but I would appreciate your help on the matter.

Re: Felony charges
At present there is no procedure for sealing adult criminal records which are public information. Legislation has been proposed, but not passed, to do so. Voting rights may be restored in New Mexico under certain conditions specified by law, but all previous obligations flowing from a criminal conviction must have been satisfied, such as the satisfactory completion of a sentence of confinement, parole or probation.
