Grand Jury Indictment process
What happens if a person is indicted by a Grand Jury? Are they arrested at that time? Are they free until a later date? When is a trial date set, etc?

Re: Grand Jury Indictment process
Once indicted, the next step is arraignment in the district court where bond is set. Whether or not arrested prior to arraignment is DA's decision - most are not. There are proceedings such as discovery after arraignment, and when those are completed a trial date will be set. It is usually around one year between arraignment and trial.
