what are the laws regarding someone having or not having knowledge of a crime of grand larceny

Your question is unclear. There are no laws respecting what someone does not know. If one knows about a crime having been committed, it is possible that person could be charged as an accessory, as a conspirator, or as an accomplice, depending upon the facts. To have direct information about a felony crime having been committed and not reporting that to law enforcement may be a crime called "misprison of felony."
