Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Mexico
When my husband calls me from jail where he is currently incarcerated, are our conversations made on a detention center phone protected under the Marital privilege law? I know they are recorded or listened too, however is that simply for jail safety reasons?

No, they are not protected at all. Say nothing you would not want to hear on the 5:00pm news.
