Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Mexico
If an officer is going to give you a warning citation for what could be a criminal offense, but you are confused to if you violated the law or not, and they then put on the citation for you to go to the court within a specified set of days to speak with someone about it. Is it still a warning, or can they change it into an actual ticket?

A warning ticket does not require a court appearance. A criminal or traffic citation does. If you are required to appear in court, then you have been charged with an offense, not given a warning.
