Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Mexico
I have a petit larceny charge on my record a misdemeanor. I am now being charged with false personation a misdemeanor for using some else's name to get out of a ticket. Could I go to jail?

Of course. Conviction of a misdemeanor carries the potential of one year in jail. Will you go to jail? That, of course, depends upon the judge. In Metropolitan Court you have a fairly good chance of probation and community service. In other courts, the result may be different.
