Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Mexico
Sexual Predator, Harrassment
I have been having several issues and cannot get help from the local police dept. My daughter is 15 and was trying to date a 29yr old. He has bought her several phones, seen her behind my back, she ran away twice. The first time she stayed at his sisters for a month before he sent her on a bus to Tucson. The second time he paid for a motel room for her for two days. She ended up trying to committ suicide. When she was released from the hospital, he tried texting her again (over 32!). He put a package for her on our yard with a nasty note in it. I still cannot get help from the local pd. I know for a fact that they were having sex, but was told that unless they admit it, there was nothing that could be done. I was told by one officer that we could press charges for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and custodial interference. Yet the DA did not want to pursue it. This man has destroyed my life and I believe that he preyed on my daughter. I want justice, there has to be a way! I have gone to the local PD, Da's office, CYFD, Family Justice Center. I can't even get a restraining order for him! I need some guidance.

Re: Sexual Predator, Harrassment
Contact the District Attorney's office in your county. See if they have a victim advocate. If so, speak with that person about your concerns.
If that fails, go to Magistrate Court and file a Complaint as you were advised.
Contact a criminal defense attorney in your area to advise you further.
