Speeding ticket on a reservation

I got a speeding ticket on a reservation and never paid it, I just received a letter from the tribal court stating that if I did not pay a huge fee my license would be revoked and a warrant would be put out. As I do not live on a reservation is there any legality to what they are threatening?

Yes. Highways on pueblo lands are New Mexico state highways, and the same traffic laws and penalties apply on or off Indian lands.
