Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Mexico
Telling the truth
My question should be very simple. One of my good friends, was growing marijuana in the desert to help pay off some debts that he has. He now wants to tell his family and friends what he was doing to take the wieght of his mind or something. Can he get into any trouble for talking about something illegal that he did but no longer does?

Confession is good for the soul but legally bad for the confessor. One can indeed be prosecuted for a past crime prior to the expiration of the statute of limitations. Confessing criminal acts at this time could well subject the speaker to serious criminal prosecution and is probably a very bad idea.
