Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Mexico
I was wrongfully charged with battery. I was involved in a fight but was pushed first so I pushed back. I recieved a letter in the mail almost two weeks later stating i was being charged and had to appear in court. I immediately went to the police station to present my list of witnesses and give my statement. The cops never came and took a statement from me. They said I had to go to court beccause I posted on my facebook page that I had been in a fight. How do I get out of this without hiring a lawyer

Just go to court and tell your story. Then hire a lawyer only after you are convicted.
