child support payment modifications

My 16.5 daughter has decided to live with my since oct 20th and has not returned to her mother by her choice. Whild I have encourged her to maintain a positive relantionship with her mother. She chooses to stay with me. May i the modify monthld child support payments to my wife? Do I need a hearing? a Form? etc.? May I file for my self?

Yes you may modify the child support. No you cannot modify it without a court order. In the 2nd Judicial District Courthouse on the 2nd Floor there is a Pro Se clinic that can help you file the paperwork, i.e., using the correct forms, and you can do this on your own.

A lawyer might make the whole process faster and easier but there is no reason you cannot do this on your own.
