Legal Question in Family Law in New Mexico

Divorce

I have been in the process of divorce for the past four years and have been waiting for my spouse to continue the process, but she is dragging her feet for financial reasons. How can I proceed with the divorce on my own?

Re: Divorce

If neither of you has already filed a petition you can find Pro Se packets and forms online at nmcourts.com or go down to the Bernalillo County District Courthouse at 4th and Lomas and go upstairs (second floor) to the pro se help section. They can give you the forms. Sometimes they have lawyers available for brief help sessions.

Another avenue for free help if you qualify is Law Access New Mexico, a telephone hot line at 18003409771.

You can file a petition following the instructions in the packet or get the packet for uncontested divorce and you can jointly file the documents all signed and ready for the judge's signature.
