The Marchman Act is a means of involuntarily committing someone who needs treatment for substance abuse. It's only called the Marchman Act in Florida, but they may have a similar law in New Mexico. Why don't you try re-posting your question specifically for New Mexico lawyers and ask if there is a law in New Mexico that allows people to be involuntarily committed to a treatment center for substance abuse?
