There is a law. The law is called grandparents visitation act. I won't go into the details but the answer is yes you do have rights to see and visit your grandson. If you look in the yellow pages under family or divorce law you will find lawyers in Las Cruces who practice family law and who are more than able to do this type of case. You can also contact the state bar of NM and if you do a search for "state bar of New Mexico" you'll see both their telephone number and their website. They have a lawyer referral service and they will give you the names of some local lawyers. Also, if you go to the Domestic Relations Clerks Office at the district court house they have a calendar of the pro se clinic (if you want to do this yourself) and I believe they may give you referrals to several lawyers who practice family law. The clerk's office may have a pro se packet (for sale) that may get you started in the right direction. My recommendation is that you go and talk to a lawyer before you try this on your own.

Good luck.
