Legal Question in Family Law in New Mexico

Interstate Child Support

Both my ex and my self have moved from the state of Calif. I have a court order for payment of Arrears that is over 100,000. that he owes. I am in contact with the Child Support Dept. and have not heard anything since Oct 8,2008. Can you tell me what I can do to get him to pay? He lives in New Mexico now.

Re: Interstate Child Support

If you have a judgment for that amount you can put a lien on his house or his bank accounts, garnish his wages, other means for enforcing a judgment. CSED is really busy and in most instances won't help you unless you have been getting TANF, cash assistance, food stamps, or other forms of state assistance that they want to remimbursed for. Go to an attorney and ask for help collecting on that judgment, you've got enough there to pay for one.
