Legal Question in Family Law in New Mexico

I have joint custody of my children and my ex left them on nov 9, 09 and has not seen them since. I have no adress for her and no contact info. Can I get custody so she can't come and take them? Its obvious she doesn't want or care for them the way she should. Is she not forfieting her custody by not taking her time with them and moving away?

There is provision in the domestic relations law for parental abandonment. Consult a divorce attorney in your town for precise information. Initial consultations are usually done at no cost.
