Legal Question in Family Law in New Mexico

I am getting married in a few months. I have horrible credit and would like to know if this is going to affect my husband in getting student loans and such. We live and will be getting married in New Mexico.

New Mexico is a community property state. Bad credit on the part of one spouse (that's 1/2 of the community) will reflect upon the other. In NM, in many instances a spouse is liable for the debts of the other, even if the first received no benefit or did not know of the debt incurred.
