Legal Question in Family Law in New Mexico

My mother is no longer in my life and has no contact at all. I have no idea where she lives or anything. I'm 16 years old my father wants to allow me to get married but I dont know if I can because I do not know where my mother is. Without having the district court sign how can I get married?

Several questions come to my mind when reading your note. First, are you pregnant? If yes, is the father over 18? Your father should be able to file a document with the District Court asking for a waiver of the signature for the mother and make the allegation, as you set forth in your statement, that the mother has absconded and cannot be found. The bottom line answer is you are likely going to have to go to the District Court to get the waiver for the signature. Here is a link to "the" case in NM that recognizes your ability to become emancipated.
