Legal Question in Family Law in New Mexico

I moved to New Mexico on the condition that my fiancee and I get married. I left a job of 11 years. We have been living together for over a year and a half and he broke it off with me to pursue his dream of being a drummer. Do I have to give the ring back?

Courts have gone both ways on this (it's a classic issue to study in property law classes) but I believe the answer is No.
