Legal Question in Family Law in New Mexico
I have had an ongoing child custody battle with my ex wife for numerous issues. I retained this attorney and my retainer was used swiftly. I discussed this with his office and was assured that I could make payments which I did. About six months later I was told I had to pay the balance which I somehow managed to get the funds to do this. I am active duty military and just received reassignment orders so another court appearance for parenting plan modification was put on the docket. After this I was told by his office I could again make payments which I did and never missed any. Today I received an email from my attorney's office stating that he is filing a motion to withdraw from my case. What is your advice?

Demand an accounting for the services rendered. If the lawyer is not responsive then contact the state bar of NM at this website: http://www.nmbar.org/Nmstatebar/For_Public/Dispute.aspx They will help you address your financial concern.
Good Luck.
