Legal Question in Family Law in New Mexico

There is a new case in NM wherein the court of appeals states that termination of parental rights can / or does terminate an obligation to pay child support. My suspicion is that is area of law is not totally settled but this case moves in a clear direction saying that if you lose your parental rights your obligation to pay child support will also be severed.
