Legal Question in Family Law in New Mexico

Parental rights

My husband and I are not legally separated, but he has moved out of state - to Arizona. He now wants me to meet him halfway between our two domiciles and take our 7 mo. old son to stay with him for a month. Must I do that?

Re: Parental rights

I could not tell from your question and header whether you are in NY or in NM. If you are in NM why are you also sending this note to NY? Regardless, I agree with Mr. Feldman, only with a shorter answer "NO." (My personal remarks - I do not know of any child psychologist who would support that it is okay to allow a 7 mo. old child to stay away from it's primary parent for a 1 month visit to some other place. The thought of it is outrageous).

Go see a lawyer. If you are in NM see some of my other replies about how to find and hire a lawyer.

Good Luck.

Re: Parental rights

Why are you considering doing something, that would cause you and your baby great personal inconvenience???

If you are suffering from emotional or economic depression or something else. Get professional help and assistance for yourself and baby. And, forget about the person who is presently a major contributer to your current situation and un-settlement.

GOOD LUCK,
