Legal Question in Family Law in New Mexico
Paternity Case
Can I get someone, I believe to be my biological father, to submit to DNA testing. I am 35 years old and no longer a minor. I am not seeking a relationship, but just want closure to the question of my paternity. I know his whereabouts and have spoken to him once in the past. If he refuses to submit voluntarily to testing, do I have any other legal recourse?

Re: Paternity Case
I kmow of no legal process in the Commonwealth of Virginia under which a person could be compelled to submit a sample of his DNA for purposes of
establishing paternity for the reason which you've offered.
If you're going to pursue this matter, I'm quite confident that it would have to be on a voluntary basis(at least in Virginia).
