What is a Guardian and Litom, and what do they do for a minor child?

A guardian ad litem is a person who is either assigned by the court or agreed upon between the parties when their is an action that includes minors. The minors are represented by the guardian ad litem. This guardian looks out for the best interests of the child and makes recommodations to the court.
