Legal Question in Family Law in New Mexico

im pregnant from an ex- and now im with a new guy...this new guy is more than willing to be the father, so he will be the one on the birth certificate. But now my ex- wants to force me to take the baby when it is born for a DNA test...but i dont want too...does he have the right to force me to take my child for a DNA test when he's not even going to be on the birth certificate?

In a word, yes. He can force the issue by taking you to court. Go see the Uniform Parentage Act in the New Mexico Statutes Annotated. It will be in Chapter 40. You can find the NMSA in the public library and you may be able to find them online.
