Legal Question in Family Law in New Mexico
i had a restraining order on my partner, during it being in place i talked ti him and invited him over. now he has a court summons for violation of it even though i let the officer know it was me making the violation. how can i help him to aviod punishment?

Go to court with him and explain it to the judge. Almost all those restraining orders (a) are mutual (i.e., you are restrained as well) and (b) forbid you to try to get him to violate the order. So you may be guilty of a violation as well. You will have to decide whether the risk to you of the judge violating you too is worth exonerating him. Ethically, I would say exonerate. Legally, think about it.
