Legal Question in Family Law in New Mexico

STD threat

I have been threatened that if a girl's mother finds out the girl has an STD, she is going to sue me? As far as I know I am clean and disease free, but I did have oral sex with the girl. Can I be sued even though I do not believe I gave her any disease?

Re: STD threat

This is America. Anybody can sue anybody else any time they want to. The real question is can the person who brings the law suit win at court? If you are disease free and the person you had sexual contact with has a disease then I would imagine it would be hard for a law suit to be successful.

Perhaps there is (at least one) higher lesson here: don't put your mouth in places where you might get a disease or perhaps consider having sexual relations with women who are old enough that you don't have to worry about what their mother's think.

Good luck.
