Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Mexico

Leaving home

Hello,

i am 17 years old, and i wish to move out of my home and into my friends house. I have a job, and can take care of myself, but do not wish to go through the emancipation process. I was told that it is legal for 17year olds to leave home, and move in with a friend without parent consent, is this true?

It is not true. Until you are 18 you are under your parents' control.
