I need more facts. What are you charged with? Have you been arraigned? Has bail been set? Did you make bail? Did you used to have an attorney who has left you in the lurch? Can you not afford retained counsel? Which court are the charges pending in. There are advocates in every county who can help you but I can't tell you whom to contact at this point.
Short answer: you or an attorney request a continuance for you to retain (new) counsel.
