Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Mexico

Suing another for false child neglect.

As a means of revenge, the brother of my grandson's mother has twice falsly reported my son for child abuse and/or neglect. After investigations, both reports were dropped as untrue. My son is concerned there will be further charges. What steps can he take to protect himself and his family against further false charges? Can he sue the individual in question?

Re: Suing another for false child neglect.

It may be possible to maintain a claim for making a false report or abuse of process, but how much money could be recovered from the wrongdoer? Have you questioned the agency about whether or not they are going to continue to honor complaints from this source?
