Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Mexico

Unrecipted joint venture gone wrong

Dear sirs,

I recently purchased a vehilcle (with a partner as half owner) for use as parts. The engine was installed into his car, and the engine from his car was installed into mine.

My partner in this venture handelled all monitary transactions with the seller of the vehicle and did not recive recipts for and money (nor did I for the $750+ I gave him for the seller).

Now, the seller is claiming she recived only $500 and wants the vehicle (now in pieces) returned to her. I don't doubt that my partner embezzaled the rest of the money, but I also don't know how to proceed.

Thank you for any help.

Re: Unrecipted joint venture gone wrong

Unless you had dealings directly with the seller, direct her complaints to your partner and explain that he handled all transactions. We assume you got the automobile parts from your partner, not from her, which is your partner's problem, not yours.
