Legal Question in Employment Law in New Mexico
Help!
my brother was fired from his job as a cash courier, a job which he loved, for ''stealing.'' The situation was as follows: My brother and his partner were assigned to a local ATM that was out of service to fix it. When they got to their assigned area, a $100 bill was on the ground as if someone had dropped it. The ATM was broken and had not been in use, so they picked up the money, and fixed the ATM as they were instructed. No one came back to claim the money, in the full work day that it took them to fix the problem, so the pair decided to split the money that they had found on the ground $50/$50. Many of us have found money on the ground, and although this was an unusually large amount, I feel that most people would have acted in the same fashion, as I know i would have. Well, as it turns out, this was actually a very common set up posed by the company security to test the integrity of their cash courier employees. Months later, and just recently, my brother and his partner were fired from the job for integrity issues and are unable to work in a job such as this again, along with others who were tricked with a similar trap. This came as a devastating shock to him and all of us, and i need to know if this was just termination? PLZ

Re: Help!
This termination will have major consequences for him in the future. It may be a wrongful termination. Has he applied for UE bemefits?
