Legal Question in Employment Law in New Mexico
My father was offered a retirement package and was asked to retire after a minor traffic accident. My father refused to retire and was suspended without pay. At this point he has not been given a reason why he was suspended without pay and is considering legal counsel, should he??

NM is an 'employment-at-will' state. He can be fired or suspended for any reason or no reason at all, unless he has a written employment contract which protects him.
